The U.S. Taxpayer shelled out $35M to develop the 150 mph JetTrain in the early 2000s but fuel costs and the political environment put it in storage. Times have changed.
Much has been made of the rivalry
between planes and trains. Nevada Intercity's service will strive
to serve all travelers by scheduling trains that serve both rail
and air customers in a wholly complementary
fashion.
NIPR's dual-use right-of-way will allow Southern Nevada businesses fast rail freight access to Bay Area and Pacific Northwest markets and ports, and Northern Nevada concerns quick access to SoCal markets and ports.
Nevada Intercity will use crowd
funding-obtained money from average Americans like you to pay the
required STB declaratory licensing fee that is needed to start the
construction process, and build it as all railroads: one step at a
time.
Founded in January 2013, Nevada Intercity intends
to offer the highest average speed by any passenger train service
in the U.S.
